Learn to Hear God's Voice

Jesus said: " My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me." John 10:27

As a church, we believe it is both possible and essential to learn to hear God's voice, and we encourage all beleivers to pursue this. How?

First, make reading of Scripture a daily activity. As you learn how God spoke in the Bible, you will grow accustomed to hearing His voice.

Second, pray often. Talk to God like your father. Jesus Himself called God "Daddy" -- "Abba" in the language of His day. Here is an example of Him praying in Mark 14:36: "Abba, Father, all things are possible for You." The Apostle Paul wrote: " For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father." Romans 8:15-16

Third, hang out with people who hear God's voice. This can happen in prayer meetings, over a meal and in small groups, among other places. Learn to pray with others who hear God's voice and you'll catch on. Ask someone you trust to help you learn to hear God's voice.

Fourth, journaling is a great way to learn to hear God's voice. A journalling group occurs every other week at Tom and Sally Browns. To learn more, please contact Sally.
