Marriage Mondays
Marriage Enrichment

7 PM - 2nd and 4th Mondays Each Month

Please join us at the church Monday evenings at 7 PM on the 2nd and 4th Monday of January through March for a refreshing time of building your marriage relationship. Marriage Mondays are free and open to the public. Come even if you can't attend all the sessions.

We will view the DVD series Love & War by John and Stasi Eldredge, then discuss informally what we've heard.

John and Stasi like to say marriage is "fabulously hard", but they advise that the sooner you get the shame and confusion of the fabled fairytale marriage off your back, the sooner you'll find your way to the real love and happiness you deserve.

With an openness that will grab you from their first words on the Love & War video study, hosts John and Stasi Eldredge candidly discuss their own marriage and the insights they've gained from the challenges they've faced. Each talks independently about what they've learned, giving their insights a personal immediacy and balance between the male and female perspectives.

Topics covered in the 8 session series are listed below:

  • Hope and Vision - Marriage is a love story set in a battle zone. Our goal is to recover the fire of desire to make our marriages great.
  • The Perfect Storm - Marriage is a collision of our differences--personal, male & female--arranged by God for the transformation of our character.
  • The Greatest Gift You Can Receive - Marriage inevitably brings disappointment, which only God can fill, if we allow Him to. His grace is His greatest gift to us all, which enables us to give grace to one another in our marriages.
  • Sharing an Adventure - Marriage provides a great opportunity to build companionship through adventure, sharing some sort of mission as a couple.
  • The Enemy Is Not Your Spouse - The devil hates marriage. Until we learn to deal with him, we will not find what God wants for our marriages!
  • Storm Clouds - Hard times come to every marriage. How we interpret and respond to these seasons of married life determines a lot. There is real hope in Godly counsel and times of healing prayer.
  • Sex - Sex is a picture of what a man and woman offer each other in every aspect of life: closeness, connectedness, and true intimacy. God made intimacy something desirable. It's about much more than just relating physically.
  • A Thousand Little Touches - Love in marriage comes down to a thousand little choices we make each day. Openness to even the small promptings of God can make our marriages better and better, as He transforms us from Glory to Glory by His Spirit!
