It’s Time

If you knew you had access to a place where you could connect with God 24-7, where He could literally transform your entire life, where it was like the oval office to your world and you even had the key already…what would you do? This place is called the mind.

God makes a big deal out of the mind and shows us it’s the battleground for where we experience daily victory. Who has ever had a bad day? It could be that your car has issues or you simply wake up on the wrong side of the bed. In Hebrews 13:5 we read, “…you always have God’s presence. For hasn’t He promised you, “I will never leave you alone, never! And I will not loosen my grip on your life!”

When we are having a negative attitude or a bad day, God clearly hasn’t left us or let go of us. So what’s going on? I’ve discovered this happens when I’m believing a lie about myself, God or a situation. We read in the Bible that we are seated in heavenly places – this isn’t a one day we will be this is a right now! There is a popular worship song that says, “It might seem like I’m surrounded but I’m surrounded by You!” Even though we live on earth, we are to live with a Kingdom perspective and the revelation that we are seated in heavenly places surrounded by God’s glory.

Never let a challenging situation or issue steal the throne of your mind. It’s funny but people have even made a game out of this – Game of Thrones. But there is no game of thrones for our mind. When Jesus dies on the cross, He not only died for our eternal salvation, but He died for our minds. Often times we can dismiss thoughts or negative emotions as moments we are just being human, but God is calling us to enter into His breakthrough for every part of who we are!

Jesus died so every aspect of who we are could live in 24-7 connection with Father God’s reality. This includes our minds. Have you ever had an awkward moment where your phone rings in a movie theater? Or you pocket dial someone at midnight? I have haha!

Lies from the enemy that try to enter our mind are like disrupting phone calls trying to interrupt the reality of heaven on earth around us. It’s time to silence or block the phones going off in our daily lives – the distractions and the lies that come against the truth that was bought for us on that Cross. Jesus paid the price for us to have 24-7 access to His truth that sets us free!

In Daniel 3 we see that Shadrack, Meshack and Adednigo are powerful examples of this. They didn’t let their circumstances determine what they believed about God. They didn’t react to being thrown in the fire, because they were operating from another reality. As they stood in their faith, heaven’s reality met earth and manifested supernaturally!

This week, when you feel a bad day coming on or a negative attitude creeping in, stop and ask Holy Spirit, “What lie am I believing right now?” Then ask Holy Spirit for His truth. John 8:32 says, “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free!” It’s time to invite God to encounter us in our thought life this week and watch our entire life transform!
